The weather is finally approaching normal for October. Is 18 months too young to introduce a kid to hot cocoa? I make my own from scratch and he's eyeing my mug like I've been keeping a secret from him.

i would be inclined to think that it would be okay for him to have a sip or 2. within reason, i let my son try just about anything i'm eating. we do have a nice and healthy/organic diet so i don't see much harm in it.

p.s.-i peeked into your journal and think you are pretty awesome.

LOL. Thanks. He eats most of what we eat, I just couldn't remember when I let his older brother in on the secret of chocolate.

See, and I think my real hesitation is the knowledge that with two boys in the house they're going to be all up in my chocolate and we'll have to fight.

18 months is fine for cocoa, I don't see any reason why not. Cow's milk is fine after a year, and I don't know any reasons about chocolate after a year. I'd only wait if you're really worried about food allergies, like have a strong family history.
