What activities do you do?

So Kimberly is now 14 months old and I find myself constantly trying to think of things to do with her so we don't get bored. Yesterday we went to the park and played in the sand but I'm not sure I'm up to the walk again today so I am trying to think of activities to do with her. What do you all recommend or do/have done yourself to keep a toddler entertained?

Sometimes I strip my daughter down, dump out a jar of babyfood on my her high chair tray and let her fingerpaint and play. And of course, all that ends in a bath, so it kills lots of time!
Sometimes we'll just sit on the floor and sing every song I can think of (y'know, wheels on the bus and other ones where you can wiggle your kids arms and legs around).
When I'm doing dishes, I give her a few pots and pans and some various spoons and let her bang on them like crazy. It's a good distraction for her so I can get stuff done. :)
Hmmm, what else? We go to lots of farmers markets and parks. We go to a class called Baby College once a week. I save my old magazines and let her tear them all apart. Annnnnnd I try to roate her toys so she doesn't play with the same stuff everyday and get board with it as quick. So like, Monday I might bring out her little dinosaur roll-a-rounds toy, but I'll put it away and bring out her bouncy zebra thing on Tuesday. So by the time I bring out the roll-a-rounds thing again, she's like "Oh hello, what's THIS?!?!" and all excited about it again.

OH! And I totally forgot her new favorite thing! COLORING! Oh man, if you haven't given your kid crayons and blank paper yet, do it- it's super cute!

plug for infant research
Does your local university have an infant lab? It can be fun to participate in studies on development!

We have been spending a lot of time dancing and singing to music lately.

Finger painting on the new Crayola color wonder paper. It works great and doesn't leave messes. Coloring books, crayons, washable markers.

And my son's new favorite thing to do is play out the yard with his big plastic ball. He can throw it really well. Go to Walmart, I'm sure you'll get it for no more than $1.50.

Also my husband bought my son a bubble machine. They have tons of fun playing with it already. More fun for him catching the bubbles, but when we tried all my son wanted to do was eat the bubble wand. lol.

we go to the park everyday and just run around and swing, or we dance around the house (he loves music). I'm thinking about getting some paints and going to the local YMCA for swimming lessons.
